Meet The Owners

Warren R Jacobs, PhD, LMFT

Dr. Jacobs strives to bring an effective blend of experience, expertise, clarity, concern, and action to Family Mental Health Services at Central Iowa Family Institute to maximize outcomes and provide genuine healing and wholeness to individuals, marriages, and families. He earned a Leadership Certificate from White’s Ferry Road School of Biblical Studies, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible Ministry with a minor in Psychology from Abilene Christian University, and a Master of Arts degree in Marriage & Family Therapy also from Abilene Christian University. After returning to South Africa, co-founded a training and development company in the transport sector and developed a qualification program. He later held positions in the education sector including Lecturer in the Psychology department, Director of Student Affairs, and Dean of Students. He completed his Ph.D. degree in Psychology from The University of The Western Cape in South Africa. Dr. Jacobs is currently a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and practices in Ankeny, Iowa.

He has almost thirty years of counseling and related experience with a wide range of clients and activities in a variety of treatment settings. These have included providing counseling in private practice, residential treatment programs, home-based therapy services, and an outpatient clinic. In addition, Dr. Jacobs also developed Counseling programs for two educational institutions, taught in Psychology programs at universities, and supervised students completing their research and clinical work toward their clinical degrees and full licensure. He established the Central Iowa Family Institute to move the needle on reclaiming family in our communities.

Glynis Jacobs

Glynis brings proven experience in a senior administrative role to the operations of Central Iowa Family Institute. She has extensive education and experience in business administration and banking, with a keen interest in payroll and accounts payables. She possesses excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail. Her communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels are considered strengths she brings to this position. She has a strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to analyze complex information and make data-based recommendations.

In the role of Director of Administration, Glynis’ responsibilities are pivotal. She oversees handling and coordinating all administrative tasks across the organization, including credentialing of all Mental Health Professionals. Her leadership and organizational abilities will play a crucial role in ensuring that administration functions effectively in support of the organization’s overarching goals. Glynis is a co-owner of Central Iowa Family Institute.

Jon Engelman

Jon Engelman is a seasoned entrepreneur and business owner. He brings a commitment to delivering innovative and results-driven solutions to guide Central Iowa Family Institute toward sustainability. He became interested in the business of mental health after experiencing a traumatic life event that changed everything. He wanted to give back because he benefited from therapy.

In his role as the Chief Financial Officer, he drives effective resource planning, allocation, and utilization. He also oversees the financial cycle, which spans from budgeting and performance to the recording of accounting transactions and payments, strategic financing, financial monitoring, and financial performance reporting. Jon is happy to be a partner in the CIFI group.
